CONCENTRATE Al'gerda Concentrate - a type of product, which has an increased content of a valuable component and a reduced amount of impurities. In this project I wanted to get a "concentrate" of my city - Syktyvkar. The goal was to investigate what the city itself means to residents and how they project it in their minds, and on the basis of this to make an object that reflects and combines all the residents' ideas. |
THE SEARCH FOR RUSSIAN AESTHETICS Anna Covva Physical objects of the real world have their own temporality and their own life cycle, which we are not able to control. Technology allows us to create copies of real objects and broadcast them on different media. On the one hand objects cease to be unique, but at the same time they become hypertextual, increasing the meaning of the real object' at the expense of increased recognizability. |
MEMORY BANK Marat Kurmaev Very often we have to go through difficult emotions associated with the inability to be where we would like to be and with those with whom we would like to be. At such moments, we dream of reliving episodes of our lives from our memories, if only for a minute. At the moment, this has become especially true for a large number of people, myself included. |
TO THE GUESTS Danil Savinsky The project considers the interaction between people through the concept of "guests," or rather the two senses of the word. The first, as a concept painted neutrally or negatively: when talking about a guest as someone who is not in his territory (he is a guest here), or in the service/interface space (guest mode on a computer). The second meaning has a more positive and warm context, which the prefix "in" adds. There has been a disconnect between people and their homes, most have found themselves not there yet, but no longer here. I seek to connect the spaces torn by distance. |
INSIDE THE FRAME Parkev Magdesyan Alexander Vasilenko Inside the frame is a portal to a new digital world that becomes part of the physical world. This project is an exhibition of photographs in which unreal objects can be viewed from different angles and you can feel yourself a part of something magical. The task is to transpose existing photographs into a space with static and animated 3D objects in those photographs. |
ENDLESS RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES Alexander Vasilenko Parkev Magdesian A pseudo-heterotopia in which there is everything and nothing. A hypertrophied metaphor for the everyday, a chilling substance flowing in the veins of the masses. A protest against sameness and staticity that exists somewhere inside, from which it is impossible to escape. The self-eating construction distances the individual from life itself, offering a simulacrum that completely replaces the concepts and circumstances in which one exists. With this work we question the notion of reality and freedom of choice, their place in society as an absolute, as well as the interpretation of these notions in general. |
CRITICIZING ONESELF / GOING BEYOND Fedya Lucky heal After experiencing a new experience. After reflecting on it, we put ourselves into a kind of paradigm. We place ourselves within the boundaries of any question. And we do not return to it, considering the answer - the truth for itself. Over time, we change, but because of the existence of built frameworks in our heads, we cannot go on with new changes. |
SYNESTHESIA Gleb Ivanov Synesthesia" project is a research of the possibilities of synesthesia perception of color in virtual reality. The phenomenon of synaesthesia is manifested in artistic culture, first of all, as a tendency of synthesis and integration of different mediums. At the same time synesthesia is a mental phenomenon characterizing peculiarities of human perception and thinking. Processing of wave streams into images takes place with the help of cross-modal brain areas responsible for convergence of processed information. In the process of signal processing there are all sorts of distortions of perception, which are associated with the ability of man to correlate objects and associations, developed in culture and acquired in the process of socialization. |
WE ARE OUR PARENTS' CHILDREN Guzel Suleymanova Collective transgenerational trauma is a trauma that has touched a large group of people and continues to have a negative impact on the generations that follow. Through an appeal to a real story from the life of one family, I have tried to explicate the above phenomenon and show what traumatic event can leave a traumatic trace outside the framework of individual experience. Two perspectives on one episode are waiting for you, proving why the nineties are rightly considered a difficult time for the country. |
INACCESSIBLE Victoria Artemenko The beautiful casts its shadow on us, visible but unattainable. We organize contentment for him with the grains that have flown, which is always not enough. We want to get in touch, the beautiful also reaches out to meet us. But the closer we are, the more it approaches itself. Was it ever really beautiful that which cast its shadow on us for so long, or was it all an illusion? |
PREDICTION ROOM Ekaterina Arshinova Uncertainty contributes to anxiety and sensory problems. The effect of subjective confirmation through the process of divination in this work is taken out as a performative act of interaction with the viewer, which has a therapeutic nature. Installation of a closed room inside an exhibition space with two types of surface: the outer part mimics the environment through the reflective properties of the material, and the inner space is accompanied by generative graphics, thus allowing to rebuild the boundaries of privacy and create a state of calm for the viewer. In the middle of the room, a digital-physical avatar of a tarot reader acts as a performer, inviting the querent to find out his fate. |
